PDP Senator Buruji Kashamu has come to
the rescue of the suffering people of Osun
state who are being owned seven months
salaries by donating 30 trailers of rice to
them.
Information reaching us now reveals that
Prince Buruji kashamu has donated 30
trailers of rice to the people of Osun State
to save them from abject hunger they are
being subjected to by the wicked, heartless
and insensitive government of Governor
Rauf Aregbesola.
A source, who is close with Kashamu
revealed that the Senator is pained by the
turn out of events in the state as he has
been having sleepless nights ever since
because he feels the pain of the hungry
people of Osun state which is as a result of
the non-payment of their salaries, and for
the retired civil servants, their pension.
Osun state has 30 local governments –
hence, each local government will get one
trailer of rice each.
The trailers are currently en-route Osun
state.

“I am the wife of the President and NOT the First Lady” – Aisha Buhari

Our First Lady doesn’t want to be referred to as The First Lady.  Read the press statement…
I am not the first Lady says the wife of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Hajia Aisha Muhammadu Buhari. I am the wife of the President and will be addressed as such going forward. With her large smile that easily lights up a room, Mrs Buhari’s sense of direction is established. Her jovial nature belies a strong personality who says what she thinks.
Speaking at the Appreciation Dinner held last night ,June 13th at the state house , mrs Buhari shared some of the challenges experienced on the campaign trail, ensuring that she diffused a potential life threatening situation with light laughter which shows her sense of balanced perspective on the trials that come with being in the public glare. She attributed the success of the camapaign to team work and was profoundly greatful to the team , women and youth that helped vote her husband into office. She also attributed all her success and achievements to the support of the President who encouraged her to go to school even while raising 5 children where she eventually got her Master’s degree in International affairs and Strategic studies from the Nigerian Defence Acadmy N

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has blamed the deteriorating and epileptic power supply in the country on large-scale corrupt practices and dubious awards of contract in the power sector by past administrations.

Speaking at 10th anniversary lecture of Crescent University, Abeokuta, on Saturday, June 3, he implied that the Buhari administration would be taking some tough decisions to put the country back on the path of genuine growth and development

According to records, Osinbajo said for several years, series of contracts were awarded in the power sector and are still ongoing without concrete progress.

He said, “Though Nigeria needs more than 10,000MW to stabilise economic growth, the present capacity of power transmission lines cannot distribute more than 5,000 MW since the improvement works on transmission lines have been stagnant over years and should be improved upon if Nigeria must achieve tangible output from the sector.

“Unfaithful to awards of contract and execution of contracts being awarded are the major challenges. Several contracts in that regards have been awarded several years back, but have not been completed.

“What is being produced now is less than 3,000 MW. Our transmission grid today can only transmit 5,000 MW and we need to improve on transmission capacity to transmit enough power needed to stabilise economy. That is why the private investors have to increase capital investment in power sector.

“Insurgency and instability of government is a major setback especially in the agricultural sector. Agriculture contributes 24% to Nigeria GDP but the 24% is under threat because of the insurgency in the North East”.

Rep. Gbajabiamila pledges loyalty to Speaker Dogara

The Former House of Representatives Minority Leader,
Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, on Thursday promised to work
with the new Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, to deliver on
campaign promises.
Gbajabiamila said this while addressing newsmen in
Abuja after an emergency meeting by the National
Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress
(APC).
It would be recalled that Gbajabiamila won the straw poll
the APC organised to present a unified candidate for the
speakership position but was defeated by Dogara who
insisted on a contest.

According to him, the loyalty will remain strong as long as
party programmes are pursued to ignite the needed
change.
“We will work with the leadership of the house and with
the speaker for as long as the party’s programmes are
properly articulated and pursued on the floor of the house.
“He is an APC member but not the speaker of the APC but
of the House of Representatives of the country. So we will
work with him and support him,’’ he said.
According to him, the party is going to remain strong and
united so that we can deliver the deliverables and the
programme of the party through the house.’’
On whether the party would sanction some of the
lawmakers that defied its instruction in both the senate
and the house, he said: “all I know is that in every
association there must be discipline’’.
“Whatever the party decides to do that’s for the party; it’s
not for me to speak about it,’’ he said.
In another interview, Rep Mohammed Monguno, who won
the straw poll organised by the party for Deputy Speaker,
said the situation in the lower chamber was a reality the
party must rise to face.
“As it is now, that is the reality on the ground and we have
to deal with it.
“As loyal party members, we will not take any step that is
going to affect the interest, peace, order and good
governance of this country.
“The emergence of the leadership of the National
Assembly is a reality on ground as far as the Constitution
of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is concerned,’’ he said.
Monguno said the party had summoned them and urged
them to continue to support the government so that the
people would enjoy dividends of democracy.
He said: “They summoned us to support the government
so that the lofty aims and objectives for which the
Nigerian people supported the APC to form government is
achieved to the fullest”.
